Central Partnership film company was found in 1996. Until 2000 the company has been dealing with distribution of TV rights. New business areas have been gradually added: distribution of cinematic, video and DVD rights.

Central Partnership is currently the largest distributor of TV and movie rights in Russia. Since 2009 an exclusive agreement for distribution of motion pictures of Paramount Pictures in the territory of Russia is effective. In 2012 a similar agreement was concluded with Summit Entertainment film studio.

Furthermore, Central Partnership is a leader in the field of motion picture production.

In 2007 Central Partnership, being already a major domestic rights holder, adopted a strategic decision to focus on building of a film library. The company currently holds rights to over 700 pictures and 3300 hours of TV series. Herewith, Central Partnership follows a policy of genre diversity; its library includes both the best examples of Russian pictures, and products of major European and US studios.

Since February 2014 Central Partnership is a member of Gazprom-Media Holding, one of the major holdings in the Russian entertainment media market.
